I've been craving cheesecake lately and have no time to actually make one.. Besides, I'm the only person in my house who even likes cheesecake, so having an entire one in the house is just a bad, bad idea!

My question is; has anyone ever tried the desserts by Smartones? I try to stay away from pre-made things, but like I stated above, no time to make homemade!

Are the good? Do they raise BG's a lot? What ones are the best?

My mother used to make a jello dessert that always reminded me of cheese cake. I won't share that particular recipe because it is loaded with sugar. But if I had a craving for cheese cake I might try using one pkg of cream cheese (whatever kind fits on your diet) and a box of sugar free jello in lemon flavor. All you have to do is make the jello and mix in all the cream cheese that you have softened (perhaps in the microwave) and let it sit in the fridge for a couple of hours. I have not made this for a long time so I don't really remember the specifics, but perhaps this idea may be useful.
God bless!

Wow thats a hard one. Cravings are a pain. I stay away from over process foods, fruits are my friend. If i have any kind of craving i make worth my time, money, and blood sugar! Set your mind to stay away from cheap food. Only have your treats when you go out to a nice place to eat. And the biggest thing you can do is SHARE, always share. Dessert always tastes better with friends and lots of forks. You get your taste and when the rest is eaten by others, you cant get it back!

My husband make what we call our "fake" cheesecake. 1/3 less fat cream cheese, cool whip and splenda to taste…instead of putting it in a graham crust, we crush a couple graham crackers and use it as a topping. I'm not sure how it counts, but it isn't anything like the real thing!

I looked at their desserts and the raspberry cheesecake has 26g of carbs per 60oz serving. I wanted the smart ones ice cream bars but they are higher in carbs. I don't do those kinds of foods. I have seen no sugar added cheesecake in supermarkets bakery departments. I don't do any or weight watchers foods or any other kind of frozen meals. Way too much sodium in them for me.
