Hi, Has any one used the Bayer's A1CNow® SELFCHECK. It says on there website that it's, At home results in 5 minutes with no need to mail-in blood sample. And, Easy to use Lab-accurate results. I'm thinking about getting one and would like to know if others here has used them.

I use the Bayer Now A1c and like it. Never had it vary more than 0.1 from my tests done in a lab and that may be legitimate changes and not an issue with the Bayer. I did test it once on the same day as a lab A1c. On that day, iBayer read 5.8 and my lab test read 5.9.

It comes in a box and will test 2X ONLY. I use it at the first of the month to get an idea of each month's readngs. Currently, I do my daily tests more when I'm concerned that I'm high, so the average on the meter is NOT an estimate of my A1c, cause I'd have to faithfully be doing pre- and post- tests to approximate the A1c.

Gabby: the Bayer cost $29.00 in Longs for the two pack, so that's about $15/month as I use it. Used per manufacturers suggestion, it would be $60/year.

Thank you. The one that I had was just one test. It was by Reli-On I think. It was so long ago I can't remember.

Yes, I tried the mail order one also. It was just under $10 for the one test. I didn't see any difference in reliability.

Results from the mail in test were available in about 3-4 days online and I could print it out and save it. Bayer has NO printout, but does give you a little card where you can write the results.

Ok, either way. Having the ability to check on it at home is good. I did mine before I was seeing a doctor and after I learned what it was and why I needed it, I was glad to have one. My test was done about a month before I finally got to see a doctor and it was only about 3-4/10 of a percent off. Not bad.

I have tried the at home A1C by bayer and loved it. I think it's a great tool out there for helping you to manage your diabetes. I had great results with it.

I have one and it has 2 tests in it so I only have to buy it once a year. I have no insurance so I use it then send my results to my doctor. I just used it 2 days ago and my A1C is 5.5

I have used the mail in ones. It was very accurate, only .01% different than the one I had done by my doctor. Having one at home would be good. Do you know the price of this item?

I have never purchased one and used at home, but my endo did use one on me in February.
