So my fasting BS #s were always a little higher than I would have liked (in the 120 range some days) even though I was doing a protein snack before bed. Now, I take 500 mg. of Metformin twice a day, and previously I was taking one before lunch and one at dinner time. So I switched the dinner time dose and now take it at around 10:00 PM - I've been doing this for about 2 weeks now and Voila! My fasting #s are now below 100 every morning! WOOHOO!!!!!

I have always taken Metformin @ bedtime snack time, in fact I take two! Keeps mine in line too along with the right snack!

LOL - thank you Jay!!! So cool! I don't know why I never thought of it before, because my Metformin is ER (extended release), so I always assumed it just released evenly through the day/night, but when I separated the dosages closer to 12 hours apart, it was a huge difference. Sometimes you just never know what will work :)
