Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let you know if you haven't heard that the FDA approved the new Dexcom yesterday, Oct. 8th. Looks like their are pre-ordering now. It' definitely on my list, what about yours?

I thought the last Dexcom was pretty terrible but this one looks like they made significant changes to the worst areas, the accuracy and the monitor. So much so that my paperwork is in progress to get one.

That's really not the true cost, it looks like for that much you get to use it for a week. After that you will need to drop about $350 a month (before insurance) to keep using it. The transmitter is only good for around 6 months so you will also have to factor that in. You're basically looking at around $4500 or so per year in running costs after the initial purchase. Depending on your insurance you could be liable for 0%to 100% of that cost.
