Nectresse, the Latest in Zero Calorie Sweeteners

I had a coupon for this, so I figured I would give it a try.

Nectresse is made by the same people who produce Splenda, but this is made with Monk Fruit instead of sugar beets.

It is a granulated product that has 2g of carbs per packet. The carbs come from Erythritol (another sugar alcohol which I need to research) but it does contain sugar and molasses as well.

I bought some and have been using it in my morning drink, and I don't find it as sweet as Truvia, so that is a plus, as I want to wean myself off. It doesn't have any weird aftertastes either, and the molasses is not enough to make it taste like syrup.

Have any of you tried it yet?

I drink diet soda @ low carb drinks … As for sweets I've never been big on them , no sweet tooth . I do love orange juice though , I often water it down … My weakness is food loaded w/carbs like rice & potatoes … Oh & bread too !!!!!!!!!!!!

I prefer stevia in the raw for my coffee or tea. I've tried Nectresse, but didn't like the taste.. I still use Splenda when baking, though.

No wonder u go for the fake sugar! Ive always loved juice but now that i cant drink it, this stuff saved me. So i get coffee and this once n awhile. I savor it!

Have u tried the 50% less juice? Its like i died and gone to heaven. 1cup equals a serving. So i usually hav a half cup since ive come to like food more. I really like the switch from water

I dont use anything. If i want a treat i will only use sugar or honey. Only very small amounts. Like natural coffee creamers with sugar and i only have a serving or a tsp of honey but not often. With all i do to take care of myself and watch what i eat i dont see the point of putting chemicals in me. I discovered if i tried to use sweeteners i wanted everything sweet and that wasnt learning to live without, always needing that taste. Now that im used to much less sugar things taste better. Fruit taste better, dark chocolate tastes better. First time in my life ive said "its too sweet" i really like that. Makes it a lot easer to say no to food i dont need.

Yes that is very true about craving sweets from artificial sweeteners. It is a good thing to use none or little as you can.

I myself am not into the sugar stand in stuff. If something has less sugar i will try it. I stay away from diet stuff too. I only indulge in a chocolate once in a great while like months ago. I was told to not try and replace my sugar with other stuff. Get use to not having the sweet taste and life will be much easier. So far so good, food taste better. Fruit is better, i now like my coffee with milk and no sugar. So i stay away from splenda, sweet and low, equal. So when i break down and have my 2Tbs of soda, its too sweet and im satisfied.

Yes, that is the best thing for sure. Do without. We really don't need the sweet and retraining our taste buds and brain to be happy without it is the best way by far.

I like Splenda, the truvia is too sweet to me. The new Nectress is ok, but it takes time to get use to the change.

A friend brought some over for me to try, and within two hours I was very ill. I can't be positive it was the Nectresse that made me so sick, but I'm really scared to try it again. Never had that sort of reaction to anything like that before…

On the positive side, it did taste good, it's not artificial and it's low carb. I'll possibly give it another try, and if i do, I'll post again here about it.

Yeah, this one is not on the top of my list. I am still liking Truvia, but I like to keep trying new things.

I tried it and really did not care for the way it taste in my morning coffee but I will use it in my Crystal Light drinks. It did not impact my BG any more or less than the Truvia does, so I was okay with that aspect.

Here are some of the things about Erythritol
So it seems to have few ill effects and works more like xylitol than some of the other non-digestible sugar alcohols. So maybe for once it isn't so bad. It also says it helps make it heat stable so maybe it can be used in cooking.

Haven't tried it yet, but i am very interested in doing so, as well as thankful for your personal review of it!
