What A Horrible Day

Today my nephew got married…yay for him…BUT other than that it's been awful.
First my two sisters (one being the mother of the groom) decided to get into a knock down, drag out fight, and I being the good little brother got in the middle of it and pinned one of the down so the other could get away. Then the real fun began…my blood pressure spiked to 220/118 literately knocking me out cold, thankfully my daughter was quick witted enough to get my meds bag and get a nitro and crushed aspirin in my mouth.
Once I came to I had to deal with the after effects of the fight, one sister was threatening to leave and brush off the wedding, my mom was freaking out, my niece and daughter were crying because they though I should go to the hospital and I refused.
It took me two hours to defuse the situation and get my sisters to shut up and listen to reason, after that you would have never known there was a fight being all lovey dovey as they were.
I know stress can effect blood sugar, but wow, as with my BP my BS spiked above 200 for the first time in weeks, so know I'm just chilling in bed watching a movie and trying to get this day out of my head.

Uggg...weddings. What a mess and all of that taking away from the special day it was to be for your nephew and his bride. Good grief. Family. Love 'em and love 'em anyway.

I am glad you are recovering with a movie...maybe it would be "Wedding Crashers" or "Corpse Bride"? LOL.

LOL, no, nothing wedding related…Dawn of Dead. Nothing better to sooth the soul than to watch a bunch of zombies get there heads blown off :-)

Geez, am so sorry that you had to go through this, I could imagine how couple may have felt. Stress doess effect me, so usually will try to avoid it and certain people. I don't get my whole family together all at once!

Yes eventful situations as the one you were involved in with your family can really effect your BS and BP so now you know how to keep yourself calm to avoid the hospital visits. It is good that everything came out well. Take care of Yourself!!!

Sorry to see that you had such a horrid time at what was supposed to be a joyous occasion but just remember you can pick your friends but not your family. & dont worry one day you all will look back at this and smile at their expense
