Hey, i was just wondering if any of the community live with diabetics as well as being one?? I am asking as my hubby and i are both diabetic he is T1 and i am T2. We are very lucky to live in the UK and have a great health care system. What i am wondering is, is it easier to live as the only diabetic in a relationship or have that kin-ship from a partner.

We cope with our needs just fine on a daily basis and the rest is very private.

Hope this helps you to know that coping takes a daily choice that the both partners will have to make to have needs met:) xxx

You Just continue to do all that's possible to give and fulfill each other needs.

To be honest i think our diabetic situation would be very different if we lived in the USA. I agree we support each other because we understand what we go through. I was just wondering because we are both constantly thinking about how the other is coping if they need something. We both have different dietary needs so everyday is still a struggle.

Hi! My husbands T2 and I'm pre, I think it's easier sense we are both working towards the same goal and support each other. I often hear others say that their partner doesn't understand were they are coming from or know just how serious diabetes is.
Wish we in the USA had your medical!

Hi Lil Bal!
I can say that kin-ship is great and it will take patience and learning together about diabetes because the affects for the both may be different. Since he is T1 and T2 it is best to learn all you can about both types of Diabetes which includes diets, treatments, medications, emotions, love and relationship as it relates to diabetics, stress, cooking DC is a place that can guide you and your husband together. Both of you can make living with diabetes successful!
