Thinking about a new pump

I am already on the insulin pump a medtronic one and have been thinking about switching to the omnipod any thoughts!???

I like the omnipod, although it does deactivate occasionally for some unknown reason. Insulet says they are working on this problem. An alarm will sound so you are aware of the situation and can activate a new pod and they will replace the deactivated pod. What I love about the omnipod is that without the tubing there are no air bubbles to accumulate and interfere with insulin delivery which is a problem I had with other pumps.

Well, both will work as long as you follow the instructions. If you use a cgm the medtronic pump allows you to not wear the extra receiver since the pump is a receiver as well. The omnipod allows you to not have the tubes, but you would need to wear the receiver for the cgm as well. Also, there is a price difference when using either one, so check it out.

You can go to the omnipod website and request the trial pkg, they will send you the omnipod to wear for three days ( without insulin), as well as info to see if you'll like it.
