Have you ever thought that having diabetes was cruel?

That it would stop you from being you?

Do you need a little bit of motivation?

Try to imagine what she had to endure, and all that she accomplished because of it!

Set your sight on your goals and go for them, after all you can obtain and achieve them!

This is a wonderful topic to bring up. I have found that without realizing it for quite a long time, there's no way under the sun I'll let diabetes control me. I might have times when I am extremely irritated by it, or even scared to a degree, but, when I turned age 34, I saw in full that I can do anything in life, if I am determined. I am 42 years old now. Anything in life, with determination and persistence, can be done. I have always been a person of control, ha,ha..not to scare everybody away—that could be the wrong way for me to explain myself—ha,ha…I wouldn't attempt to control anyone, period, because, not only is it wrong, but I have always been one to have to have control of my illness, my life, my house—ha—-I don't even own a house, yet, but, diabetes, cancer, not any of it, will I let ever control me—I'm not perfect on my diet, exercise, and medications , but, I always have to be in control of that stuff. At work everyday, I have to be in control of what I do…on some days when things are more unpredictable, I have to tell myself " Deal with does not always play a controlling game." Diabetes doesn't either, but, there's always things we can overcome, with determination. ANNE

I think people have handicaps like golf. If you spend time worrying about how people see you, what they say about you and how you look, you have less time to spend on more important things.

People who bully others, call names, say mean or nasty things about or to people have no self confidence and very little going on in their own lives. This type of behavior is a means for them to feel important and in control. Without it they are basically and empty shell of a person

This woman over came many obstacles irregardless of her medical condition and the horrible things people said about her. She set goals and is working to complete them. I applaud her and anyone who can over come an obstacle to be all he/she can be…Great post as usual Mays and to quote James "Living Well is the Best Revenge"

Thanks for sharing Mays.

After reading that Yahoo article, I think that she is proof of the old saying: "Living well is the best revenge!" Glad she is living well!

Her story is truly an inspiration!

Not only is her story an inspiration, it should also motivate people to do better. People get caught in ruts. Many of them put themselves in those ruts. There are also people who expect and demand other people to solve their problems. When you have no initiative to help yourself, you should never demand or expect others to help you.

People also expect family to help them. These days families are struggling and may not have money to give or loan you. They may not be able to support you in your endeavors. If a family, spouse or significant other does not always support you, learn to support yourself.

I don't want or expect a pat on the back for anything I accomplish. As long as I know it, that is all that matters. Determination is not always an easy road to travel, obstacles are always in front of you. If you can't find a way or simply give up your means to overcome those obstacles you end up in the rut.

So before anyone says anything bad about this young woman or call her names, look at yourself. What have you done in life? What have you done for someone else? What are you doing to make your life better or to achieve any goals? When people talked about Gabby Douglas's hair, I said she has a Gold Medal, what do you have? Don't get upset with others who are doing something with their lives because you lack self confidence and don't think anyone is going to live up to your expectations because you choose to call a person names or bully them. Set expectations for yourself and live up to them. All of that takes determination, motivation and inspiration.

It's a shame how she was, or has been treated, yet she dug in deep and succeeded!

When Chris Rock accepted an award for something he talked about how a teacher told him he would never amount to anything. I called her name and said look at me now. Success is only limited by your determination to be successful.
