anyone needed to increase their food intake?

As my last two posts stated, I've just started the medication.

And in the last month I have not wanted to eat anything - even my luscious home made bread. It is hard to eat.

And while checking on carbs and things I've realized something interesting. I might not be eating enough.

I eat 4 to 6 times a day, small amounts each time. I just don't want more.
I'm eating fruit for some of my carbs, and I'm enjoying that.

A little more info so you don't waste your time with advice. My body does not work well with cow's milk - especially whey. (Anyone know of a milk product without whey besides butter?)

My body also doesn't work with any of the beans - especially soy.

I wear dentures and I can't bite or chew in them, so everything has to be soft. Goodbye nuts.

My body also doesn't work with oats.

Are we having fun yet? :-)

This weekend I plan to buy some almond milk and see if that works. I have the suggestion of making an instant breakfast with it. Depends if instant breakfast already has dried milk in it.

So, I'm used to small amounts of food at a time, do not feel like eating bread, pasta, meat. Everything has to be soft, and I just don't want to prepare food.

I am doing better than a week ago, though.

Thanks for listening.

Forgot to mention, I used to be a foodie! I loved to eat…but ever since being diagnosed and taking merformin, I seem to have lost my big appetite…

Hi Mags! I'm going through the same thing…I've lost my appetite… i was really bad last month… started having vertigo… the thought of needing to eat 5 to 6 times a day was really stressing me out… I'm a bit better… I bought little snacks to eat in between meals…to maintain my bs and to not drop and get dizzy…

Try Greek yorgut, the stuff I get is found at costco and is plain, so I buy a bag of berries to add to it. This has worked for me very well.

Last week I tried some chocolate almond milk and it was REALLY good. The container was an individual serving and the straw was horrible so next time I'll just pour it in a glass. But it is VERY good. P.S. I'm a fussy, 5 to 6 small meals a day too. Right now I'm on a coleslaw phase. Next week, who knows? Eat what you crave and even if it's just a bite or two try to get a little bit of the other food groups down. It sometimes takes me a full day to finish one serving of meat. I'll eat it a piece at a time. CHIN UP!!

Thanks Roxy. It's nice to know that I am not the only weird one! Egss are filling in for a couple of protein sources. I cut my meat up fine and put it in the veggies, and that helps. It is just strange that I started to not want to eat the food before my diabetes was diagnosed!
