I was diagnosed May 8th. I have tried oral meds. no luck. Insulin NPH twice a day. taking 10 units am 7 at night but numbers still in 3-400 ranges regardless. Diagnosed with diverticulitis last week. I've lost 15 pounds in a month. the diets for diverticulitis and diabetes are almost polar opposites. What's a girl to do?

I found out that one product is use in particular drops my sugar by at least 30 points in an hour. Amazing. It's a high fibre nutritional cookie! Going to have to use them wisely though. I had one at 10 am as I tested at 93. Expected a slight rise not a drop to 60! Came back fast. Had after dinner reading at one hour of 276, ate a cookie and an hour later was at 162. Still adjusting to insulin so I'm not absolutely certain what caused the drop but I'm testing the cookie theory for the next few days.

High fiber diet. They found a small pouch on me. It is very painful at times. I take natural fiber pills with physllium. Be careful as my numbers dropped like crazy. Good luck and blessings to you :)
