Ok so I have a really bad sinus infection. I didn't really eat anything out of the ordinary, yesterday afternoon I was in the 350-400 range! How do I lower this or prevent it from happening. I am type 2 on a pump. I changed my infusion site and drank a ton of water.

This is a side note really
Try a Neti Pot or a sinus pot to get rid of that infection
Don't drink juice if you have. I made that mistake once!

You have to keep taking your meds on time and as presribed. Drink fluids and try and eat right. It is so easy to want to skip eating, which means we don't do our insulin and that is wrong. You just have to adjust what to eat if feeling too ill to have an appetite. Try a meal replacement drink. When we don't eat and don't take our insulin, our bg numbers will actually climb and keep us feeling bad.

Hope you feel better.

Sometimes the stress we put on ourselves when we see those high numbers doesn't help either. It is such a delicate balance. Our bodies do so much for us that we never know until we have to try to do it for ourselves.

It sounds like you are doing the right things. Our body reacts to infections often with stress and that usually raises our levels. Keep the water close and if you can, try to eat some protein to help get your body something to do. Stay away from medicines with sugar in them. That can be a hidden problem we don't think about. I hope you fee better soon.
