living close to the coast, I have been through quite a few hurricanes in my lifetime, but they still make me nervous. Most of them caused little to no damage to the homes we have lived in. We have had to evacuate for category 3, 4, and and one 5 so far. We don't live in any flood prone area, which I am thankful for .I am praying for everyone in it's path. I know from lots of experience, that they can turn suddenly just hours before landfall, and you never really know for sure what it is going to do until right about that time. they can also increase in intensity just before making landfall, so while they are still saying cat2, I would not be surprised if it became a lower cat3 by the time it makes landfall early Wed. morning. I hope anyone on here that lives in LA, MS, AL. coast, or NW FL…stays safe.

Tabby I will add you to my prayer list. My daughter and grandson live in Mobile and we lived there when Katrina came thru so I understand the anxiety it can cause. Stay safe!!

Thank you. I am glad a very very 'few' care cause most on here don't seem to. but at least we won't get hurricane force winds now, it doesn't seem, as it appears it will make landfall in West LA..not east..which would be worse for us, but I pray for everyone, concerned for all who live in LA and MS..we might get up to 15" of rain however, and glad I don't live in a low lying area. I know the winds wll be high at times, starting this afternoon, especially through tonight and tomorrow though. Going to go check on my mother, she is on high ground too, we were going to my brother's house previously but doesn't appear we need to now. I know we can expect strong tropical storm force winds but we are kind of used to that around here.

thanks. we won't be evacuating, and won't get a whole lot from it now, as long as it doesn't turn and I don't think it will. We may get some hurrcane force gusts from it, 'if' it does become a hurricane by landfall. I know I won't get much if any sleep tomorrow night since our winds will pick up considerably and it will start raining a lot tomorrow, we could get 12-15" of rain. so glad we are on high ground. Will pray for everyone in its path and hope for the best.

This could be my first experience with a hurricane since being diagnosed and lately, I've been under a great deal of stress, something major with my son who is 21 and taking care of my elderly mother, and she has been falling, and has some health issues, so I really don't need this too right now and not sure how it is going to affect my numbers, but they have not been quite as good as usual. I just keep trying to eat right and exercise and part of the exercise is yoga, which is supposed to help calm.
