Hello again everybody, I am so peed off, I went all the way to Hobart (4 hours away) to be told by my endo that the immunologist is on holidays and I will have to come back next week to be admitted to hospital for testing. He told me that only 1 in 10000people get this type of reaction to all insulin. My partner said that he knew that I was a rare breed (ha ha) Anyway thank you for all your well wishes and I will keep you informed as to what happens next.

I am sorry to hear about this! Sometimes doctors, etc, are not very proactive towards their patients! I like the rare breed part, people with D are of course a rare breed and special! Good luck!

rellypoo.. I think I missed something. Why are you so itchy? When I started insulin I itched night & day.. I changed types, still itched. I am taking 2 different insulins, I still itch but not as often. I always thought I was allergic to the insulins I was taking. My body has little tiny bumbs that itch. Mostly, on my back, chest and stomach.

I am allergic to my insulin and I am going to be desensitized (don't ask what that means) I am very itchy all the time, all over my body not just injection site and also have red lumps all over. Do you think that you could be the same?

It sounds like what i have been expiercing for many years. They called mine Granuloma Annalare. I have had many biopsies done. I have used every anti itch cream, lotion, spray, pill on the market. My new dermatologists started me on a drug called Dapasone i believe. Not sure of the spelling. However, you have to have a special rare blood test before starting the drug, then you have to have blood drawn every week for so many weeks, then every two weks, then three, then monthly for the duration you take the drug. Unfortunately, it didn't work fr me. After 1 week on the pill, the blood test showed it was affecting my liver. The tests are done for the liver only. I was not compatiable. I was told I was the worse case of granuloma annalare my dr had every seen. It looks like ring worm but it isn't . That is the best way to describe this. I would go insane with itching. I still do at times. Good luck, i hope this has helped you in some way. CJ. \U+127803\U+127803
