The day before yesterday, my foot was acting strange. It was red on the right side of the lateral. It would feel like that I stepped on something when I would walk on it. The second part of my toe was aching too.

I have restless leg syndrome and it's all movement related. There should be no discoloration. I agree with other poster, see a doctor. Good luck!

I'm no medical professional but it sounds more like Neuropathy than Restless Leg Syndrome to me.

With Restless Leg Syndrome, there is a need to move the legs to relieve pain or any uncomfortable feeling:

Where as with Neuropathy, you experience tingling, burning, itching and you may also experience moments of numbness:

Neuropathy is very serious and can lead to major complications for a diabetic, but careful management of one's blood glucose can prevent, or delay the onset of the complications associated with neuropathy.

Rather than diagnosing this yourself (or with others) may I suggest that you schedule an appointment with your doctor so that a specialist can examine you and the appropriate action pertaining to your concerns can be addressed propery.

Can Neuropathy keep you from sleeping? I did take ibuprofen the next day, and it stopped. But before I did, I felt my big toe itching, and that part of my foot had the same feeling like it did.
