I shoot in my stomach and my arms…I use the nano…it is great…Oh yeah and I used to be type 1 and now they think I am type 1 and 1/2 no joke! :) maybe it is because I have multiple sclerosis…lol

This brings up a question that I have been thing of lately.
Does anybody give it in their butt?
The reason I ask this is when I was dianosed 37 years ago that was a place to do it, but that's when the needles were 3/4" long, and maybe 25 gauge, so a chunk bigger than they are now?
As far as I can remember the butts were smaller back then too.

Neva do my belly as gets u more fat well does me don't no about rest of most time it's in my arms

If you get fat in your arms then you'll get floppy "chicken wings". At least in the tummy one can cover it up.

My stomach, I do like old-n- grey, one insulin on one side, and the other insulin on the other side. Your not supposed to mix them. Use to do injections in my thighs until the muscles got to tough.

Would prefer to inject it any where's but me, but can find no takers.
Seriously I use my stomach ( plenty of me there to hit) Aprida on the left, Lantus on the right

Just curious why can't you mix them together like reg and nph?

Diefleu.. I take U-500 (concentrated Humlin R) very difficult to find, i take 20u 3 xs a day (which equals 100 u 3 xs a day).. And I take Byetta 5-10u 2xs a day. No oral meds. I cannot take them due to my bad kidney and chirosis of the liver (which I got from taking Vioxx). I only can useinsulin. I am a T2. I was diagnosed 7 years ago. CJ \U+127803

Doesn't hurt, this is where I was actually taught when I was young. Only moved to stomach out of desperation and it didn't hurt either.

I inject Bydureon in my tummy below the navel. I find a spot that doesn't have an injection nodule, using a pen add a circle and a dot for a target and shoot away! My needles are thick so I have to inject at an angle and jiggle to coax the needle in. Once the skin breaks I can press it to the hilt and I am home free. I love the tummy because I can see it better than I can my midriff. When I was on Byetta I used my midriff all the time, just aim, inject done. With having to coax the new needles in I have to plan more and be more aware. My legs have no fat on them so I can't use that area, my endo suggest having my hubby inject for me in my hip…haven't had to resort to that yet but would have no qualms if I did have to.

I inject Bydureon in my lower tummy…Ive had so many surgeries I have no feeling in that area…so my Bydureon in my lower tummy and my 2 insulins go in my tummy around the navel area

Im currently trying my stomach but I don't have any fat and it hurts like hell. I usually do my legs and back of my arms. I did my stomach this morning and now I have a knot there and it's sore… Ahhhhhhh

When I was in the hospital they gave me shots in the stomach. I sure didn't like those at all. I felt like they stung worse than anywhere else i had gotten shots. I hope you find the right spot. I am sure it's no fun trying to find it. I wish you the best of luck.

Been on insulin for 6 months…haven't been brave enough to try anywhere else but my stomach. I am kinda needle phobic and it still is hard to do.

I am new in diabetes, diagnosed around one month ago.. i used to inject on my stomach wit my insulin pen.. havent try for other places.. sometimes it hurts, sometimes it dont.. doubt that it is due to my "technical problem".. haha.. i hav a problem here.. im having so called therapy allergy on the place where i injected.. it`s itchy and red dot.. my doc gave me hydrocortisone cream to apply.. but it is still there.. i m not sure there are new dots o not, cant remember every injection location.. any solution on this?

Diefleu 2012-08-15 09:58:33 -0500 Report

Maybe a smaller gauge shorter needle…

yinghong 2012-08-15 12:01:22 -0500 Report

Hi there. Im new here but i just had to jump in. My favorite site is none of the above!!! Lol but since i have to do it, i poke the "fat roll" around my middle too. Seems less painful than anywhere else. :)
