Howdy mvwaterboy WELCOME to Diabetic Connect!

Yes salads CAN get boring. In fact anything eaten too frequently can get boring.

The trick is to be a "Food Explorer" Who knows WHAT you may like until you try it. However I would encorage you to ditch the pasta and pizza or reduce it to a mimimum.

(BTW my new g/f Suzy, is also a picky eater. Fortunately she does not have diabetes yet. But she eats much the same way as you, and is a little bit "plump"
Part of that is water weight part of it is from the way she has been eating. I am cooking for her, slowly working in Veggies as she tolerates them. I think she is making progress on eating more healthily)

Blessings to you and yours

I use to be a picky eater but it made eating meals boring. I was a picky eater because I didn't think I would like something. That was until the day my best friend asked me how do I know I don't like something if you don't taste it. Now I taste everything and decide from there. You have to try other foods to find out if you like it.

Meat is low in carbs if you're counting. Grilled chicken, smoked ham, turkey breast, and tuna are all carb free and low in fat as well
