My first social event since being diagnosed. I've often enjoyed my wine, etc… I know tonight people will offer me drinks, but will have to turn them down and explain why… not really looking forward to it bec I know I will get the looks and the "are you okays"… although I am determined to have fun and watch them get drunk! Lol…

Well, hope you enjoy yourself! I won't advocate alcohol, but wine (in moderation again) shouldn't be a problem. Alcohol tends to lower BG's in most as long as it's not a sweet mix like a fruity drink (long island iced tea, margarita) or beer. The fermentation/distillation process uses up most if not all sugars depending on the wine or spirit. I like my wine too, it was one pleasure I can keep.

Nick I have not gotten around to getting the mocaritas that crystal light makes. I want to try it with a little tequila. I can't drink wine or beer they both make me ill.
