I am training for a half marathon and had run a half about a month before I was diagnosed as a type one, does anyone have any advice or suggestions on what to eat before during and after that maintains sugar? Or what a safe sugar number is to start and maintain??

Thanks that's a huge help!! I generally like to tart my runs about 140 and then will have like a 15g drink or snack for every half hour the sanwhich idea is great!

Don't run if your over I think 240 is the rule, read up on the liver and working out you gotta be careful because you can actually go higher as the liver releases insulin when working out… Protein of course will help to slowly break down and replenish, carry glucose pills ALWAYS when you run. I always like a turkey or ham sandwich the bread kicks in first then the meat. I'm no expert so I'm sure someone will correct something I may have said or have even better advice!
