I just had my appointment, and my A1C went up a little bit. I really need to get it down so they will sign for my license. What's a good motivator that you use? I really want to prove to my family and doctor that I can do it.

You can do it! Just move! Walking, biking, lifting weights increasing your exercise will lower your blood sugars and will improve your overall health. Keep a food diary, log your blood sugars to spot trends, figure out your spikes and correct them. Small changes bring big results. Get going and let us know how you are doing!

to me the best motivator is how much better I feel when I have better control of my blood sugar numbers. I noticed last time we went to the zoo i could walk around all day and not get tired. That is a great feeling also, being able to keep up with my kids without getting tired

Stress can raise your blood glucose level, try to relax (teens are much more stressed out than they can ever imagine) and just do the things that you know that you must do as a Type 1 diabetic and you will be o.k., just be yourself and manage your diabetes!
