I've always wanted a 24 hour glucose monitoring system. I have the omnipod at the moment. And I am very active. What's your opinion on them, and if you do have one. What kind?

My daughter has both the medtronic CGMS and the dexcom. She says the dexcom hurts less but neither seems more accurate than the other. They are usually off 30-40 points or so. The problem we had with the dexcom was she left the transmitter lying around so much (in her room, kitchen etc) to where there were tons of periods with no data. Both of them have their pros and cons, I like both of them.

So I have the Medtronic pump which I love! I also have the Medtronic cgm which I hear is not nearly as good as the dexcom. Either way something to keep in mind is that they can be almost 20 percent different than your finger stock because the cgm measures the glucose in your subcutaneous fluids. If I am running my cgm will sometimes tell me I am like 50 below what I really am so it can make you a little crazy! Also the medtronic one uses a large needle to insert where as the dexcom is a lot smaller so it hurts like the devil!! Over all I think it's a great idea and will be switching to dexcom shortly and t doesn't replace finger sticks but will let you know if yor going down or up and how fast! Hope this helps!!!

Thank you! I've very active and busy. So I figured it would help me control my sugar better. I go to my check up tomorrow, so I was going to bring it up to them. Thank you so much!
