Hi! I decided on making a Twitter for diabetes. It's @diabetic_qt I made it so diabetics could connect and talk. Follow me. :)

Mads don't let some of us older people discourage you. I am not a twitter person but you could do this for teens.

First of all who are you???? Secondly what is wrong with the forum here? If know one knows you how would they follow you on twitter and why? Twitter only allows a certain amount of words per post therefore, it would be basically useless.

She may not have meant to post this Anon as she already made this request on her profile wall—I made the same mistake when I first joined DC. Shes a newbie here, 15 years old, and her site name is madsan16. The young folks like Twitter—-go figure lol ;)

Me either. Tried it once and all people did was share what they were doing every sec of their lives. I had to get rid of friends who did that on Facebook. I am not interested in what anyone does all day every day and wonder why these people think anyone cares. What is worse they are at work doing this. No wonder you can't get what you need when you try to get a business to do what they should be doing. The employees are on Facebook and Twitter. I was in the doctors office and the nurse was playing Farmville and chatting on Facebook.

I am also with you on this one Joyce! It just seems so narcisistic (sp?) doesn't it?. That and text messaging…when I have my grandaughter spend the night, that darn phone is buzzing (with a new text message) every few minutes! What is so important? She would be getting messages til all hours…I make her turn it off at my house. It drives me insane!

LOL I was visiting my cousins. The oldest daughter called and told us not to leave till she arrived. When she came in the house we were in first floor family room. She sent a text message to her sister to tell her she was at the house. Her sister was in the basement family room. I said you couldn't take 10 steps to the basement door to tell her you were here. With teens and some adults I think they think the world will end if they miss out on something that is of no importance to anyone but them.

I only allow text messages on a 24 hour basis from two sets of people The Police Department and a family member if there is a serious illness or death in the family If we have a major incident in our Police District our District Commander has to send me a message so we text each other all hours of the day and night when something major happens which isn't often and thankfully no one in the family has had to text me for illness or death. My sister will text if she is out in a store or to tell me where she is. Other than that I mostly use my phone for Angry Birds and Words with Friends.

I just don't get the text thing…if you have the phone in your hand, and you are pressing buttons…why not save yourself some exertion and press only 7 buttons (as in a phone number!!) and actually speak to a person, as opposed to furiously pushing buttons to form a paragraph? I find that so many people can not spell or actually form a functional sentence because of texting, this also makes me crazy!
The cousin story is too funny!

Joyce Im with you on that—-I got SO tired of reading hourly updates from FB friends on what they were thinking, doing, watching, eating…sigh

Yes and it was only a matter of time before those same folks started posting: breathing in now; breathing out now; breathing in again now;…teehee

Ive actually read FB posts stating they were logging off because they had to go poop lolol I guess next time they can use their phone so their profoundly important postings wont be interrupted by the need to use the bathroom :D

Yes dietcherry. I didn't know I posted it anon. I just made this and was confused. And I like Twitter so you can talk more privately on there. Theres just some things your not wanting to say on here for everyone to see.

You could always post anonymously, also, remove any personal info from your about me profile and you are privately participating.

Its fine I figured that may be what had happened—-Ive done it too!! I know very little about Twitter except that some folks post meaningless stuff that Im not interested in. I didnt know you could talk privately there—-how does that work? BTW Im sending you a Friends Invite here—-please accept :-)
