Hello everyone.. I hope someone can help me with this matter. I have T2 diabetes. 2 days ago, I started having this weird, itchy, twitching Nerve thing going from the bottom middle of my left foot traveling up the middle of my leg to my knee. It feels like a nerve is twitching and it itches like crazy. I cannot scratch away the feeling because it is "inside" my foot & leg. It comes and goes but it is persistent. I have never expierenced anything like this before. My feet are checked with the fiber tool every 4 months. My husband checks my feet nightly and rubs lotion on them as well. I have full feeling in my foot & no numbness at all. Could this be the start of neuropathy?? Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated. Have a wonderful Friday. Hugs to all. CJ. :-)

It sounds like bg levels are up. Try keeping them in range for a couple of days and see if the itching stops. Even having a higher bg reading once or twice can cause it. That being said, you could also be experience the beginnings of neuropathy which is usually from uncontrolled diabetes, but over a long period of time.

Good luck, and hope you get to the drs soon:)

your question also helps me out, I also have been having the same leg itching pain, thanks for sharing this.. It's amazing that I am able to view the posts made by others, and actually understand that I am not imagining these issues, that they do in fact exist, thank you for your input.

I hate to say it CJ it sounds like neuropathy to me. My Burning neuropathy kind of started that way. And if anything my feet are hyper sensitive. So the fact that you have no numbness at all, is not surprising.

How have your Blood Glucose numbers been running? Sometimes you can stop neuropathy by keeping tight control over your BG levels.

I second Harlen's suggestion about seeing the Dr. Perhaps you may be referred to the neurologist to check to see for sure.

THank you for the advice. My blood sugars have been pretty good for the past couple of months or so. If anything, they have been on the low side. Yesterday I did have a steroid shot and my BS went to 485 for 6-7 hours then came down to normal. At 6 am this morning I was at 119 which is good for me, especially after the shot. I have checked several times today and they have been hovering around 120. Under 100 I start getting shakey & sick to my stomach, within 30 mins I can drop to the 30s & 40s. So, I do check often. I have an appointment Monday with my Diabetes Dr. I will talk to her about this. Again, ThanK You for your input. CJ. :-)

I would think not,may be a pinched nerve ?
Have hubby rub it deep for 20 min and see if that helps if not I would call the Doc to be on the safe side
Best wishes

PS How are your #s doing ?

Hello Harlen.. Thanks for your input. I wrote the above post to jayabee regarding my BS. Also, as I told him, I do have an appt with my endo on Monday. I am praying it isn't neuropathy. CJ. :-)
