Hello, I am new to this DC. I am 18 years old and have been diabetic for 16 years now. I have come here because I have had problems controlling my diabetes all my life and I don't know anyone with this so I have always felt like I have been alone to live this. I am now on a gap year in Germany and I need to get my diabetes under control. I hope I will be able to find some support here :)

My son was diagnosed shortly before his second birthday. You're not alone. I recommend reading the articles in the "Living With Diabetes" section. Sometimes it helps to go back to the basics.

Does Germany have government funded medical care? I am unfamiliar with the term "gap year". What does that mean?

Great to have you here. Best wishes on getting your diabetes under control. You can do it.
