I have tried this diet of only protein. It works magic bc of the losing weight factor. However, I cant handle not eating sweets after losing some pounds. Then my diet fluctuates. :( this diet works but you lose many other nutrients and its very hard afterwhile.

I believe it's a good idea to consult a dietician before utilizing any food plan, especially for people with diabetes. Getting proper nutrition while restricting carbs is a delicate and tricky balancing act. In the long run, I'm sure it's best to get proper nutrition through a variety of healthy foods, in balanced and proper portion size. Most dieticians that I have talked with will keep this in mind while tayloring a food plan for an individuals circumstances.

Good information, Al. Thanks for sharing it. I looked at several of the slide shows while I was there. There is an interesting one on grilling also.

I think this kind of info is especially good for those recently diagnosed. Particularly when one is trying to determine what foods to eat. Naturally, there is no way considered to be the gospel, so common sense should always be employed.

True. If I were of the conspiracy mind, I’d say there’s a quota to fill by someone.
But more to the topic, it is an interesting slideshow with lots of good info. Funny though when I started my new diet (which was very high in protein) no one said anything about ketosis, just something I had to find out about.

I find my diabetes to be constantly evolving, which creates a challenge, and motivates me to keep learning about it ! The learning curve never seem to stop, but in fact goes on endlessly.

I'm finding that also. At first I thought if I just got to the point where I was controlled, I could stay in that lane and just truck on, but not so. Good thing I've got you folks around that have seen some of the road before me.
