Love it, I prefer the steel cut type…glucose levels always seem steady for me whenever I have them for breakfast.

I live oatmeal. The old fashioned kind. I always add a handful of almonds or walnuts. The protein helps with bs . Doesn't seem to go as high if I have proein with it.

I love having oatmeal for breakfest. I use a tiny bit of brown sugar and i also put almonds in it. Keeps me full all morning. I do not use the instant kind.. Spikes my BS. I use Quaker Oats old Fashion or steele cut.

Generally nothing.

If I need to sweeten something (which is rare) I have about 20 lbs of a natural sugar called WheyLow, a combination of fructose and Lactose which claims to have a lower Glycemic index and doesn't raise one's Blood Glucose very high or very fast. I found it through discussions on DC here and wanted to use it for my (now late) wife because she couldn't stomach (literally) the alternatives including Stevia. She liked it and we bought about 25 lbs of it (cheaper and free shipping at that level then). You can find it here ~ http://www.wheylow.com/ ( I have no connection with them other than a consumer of their products)

Splenda spell it wrong sorry. Splenda is a sweetener I use instead of sugar my mom and step dad use it and it's good.

oh, OK. Thought you were telling about something about which I had not heard. Thanks for the correction.

know about Splenda and it causes me Gastrointestinal distress if I get too much of it. But that is just me.

I love oatmeal. However if I eat it at all I have to eat it at lower than a suggested serving size as it will raise my Blood Glucose (BG) higher than I'd like. That is true of "irish" or steel cut oats. The prepackaged oatmeal, "fageddaboutit!"It will always spike me.
