The other day I wrote a post about ordering medicine by mail. After waiting two weeks, and talking to customer service twice. Both me and my husband. Which he ordered everything. They found a problem with the prescription, so now they are sending them back to us. Now we have to get another one from the Dr. office, or have them fax over the prescriptions to them. Why couldn't they tell us this last week? This is what I was concerned with. Now you would think we would go back to Wal Mart Nope he still prefers getting it in the mail. So annoying and frustrating!

Express Scripts is in St louis where I live. They treat their employees like dirt. They pay $10 no matter how qualified you are and have horrible turn over. The customer service people who work there are just as frustrated because they have no real power to fix problems that occur in another department that ships product. I have interviewed many who worked there

We use express scripts and have had nothing but problems with them. we will not use them again. I have slowly taken some of my medication away from them have them filled locally.

I work for Dell and we use Express Scripts and they like to do the 90 day supply in the mail. I do this for my insulin and test strips. All my other other must have today meds I get filled at a Publix grocery store pharmacy. Never had any issues with their mail order stuff. It does take them extra time to fill it and process it seems and have to plan for that when I need a refill. If you have to call into Express Scripts their customer service is hit or miss. Mostly miss if i were really keeping score.

But doesn't walmart mail prescriptions to you? Here in Florida I believe they will.

If we live so close, they can deliever your meds. I don't think they will mail them to us. Its easier to drive on over and get them. Come back home.

I would try Riteaid or Walmart for your prescriptions. I go to riteaid and have a wellness+card, and we get 25 points for prescriptions we order and can ask questions if need to. Also can get email, and text messages on cell phone when prescriptions are ready. I went through mail order for meds and was for me just a hassle. Takes litle time to get them at pharmacy but know will get them on time and when needed

I love Wal Mart. Our Riteaid was beat out by CVS. Wal Mart is our best way to go. We used them all this time, up until this last month.

Ellen, I would go to Wal-Mart and let him wait for his. At least Wal-Mart would tell you right away if something was wrong with the prescription and contact the doctor to get it corrected. I would never rely on Mail Order for medications after all it is my life and health that could depend on the medications.

Not to mention "stressful."
How are you managing your diabetes throughout this, time is passing by.

The company did send me the metformin. I have one thing of insulin left. I am using so I am good on that. My numbers are up in the 300s. I am keeing a very close watch on this. By checking my BS results a few times a day. Making sure that I am taking everything I am supposed to. Pluse exercising.

Well they sent the metformin after I told them I ran out, because of the first delay in waiting. I still am good on insulin but not for long. Especially if we have to wait another week. I am contacting Dr. this morning. I don't know what to do though, because my husband pays for the meds, as I have no income at all.

It is always great to have the drs office send it to the mail order company so if any problems it can be corrected fast. If doing it myself , the dr gives me a three month prescription for the mail order and a one month in case I need to fill it while waiting.

I'm sure it has to be the cost that has your husband wanting to use mail order. If not, then drop the prescription off at walmart yourself. If it is for three months, then tell them you want one month filled and the other two put on file for refills:)

Ask your dr if they have samples for you until the order gets to you as it is their fault if the prescription wasn't written correctly.

I would go to Wal Mart as I have in the past. Put I am currently broke, not working. So my husband pays for everything. I can't talk him back into Wal Mart. Dr. doesn't have those samples, I have asked each week, I call to they still won't give it to me.

Red my metformin 500mg is $6.00 at wal-mart for a 90 day supply. Any number of things can happen with mail order. For instance we had twin blizzards two years ago. I would have been in trouble if I had ordered meds and they were to arrive during that period because mail was stopped for a week. I would pay the extra few bucks and take the time to go to a pharmacy close to me. I call in the refill and get a text message from wal-mart when it is filled.

I have done this to. Made sure when I could do it on my own, that I had enough, especially when hurricanes come through our area. We have to be sure to have the meds on hand and a good three or four week supplies to. In case we have no power for 30 days, like we did in 2005.

I use insulin so have no clue what diabetic pills cost. She must not be able to get hers for that price, maybe she takes a higher dosage and takes them more times a day then you? I don't know her husbands reason for insisting on mail order. Yes, you have to take in consideration the weather where you live as well as where your mail order company is located. I don't have to worry about either, but if the weather was an issue, then I would call drs and have them call in an order at my pharmacy, that's all and easy:)

My situation is I don't have a job. So my husband pay for everything. Other I would ignor the maiil order advice from both my husband and Dr. It's easier to go to Wal Mart. Takes two minutes to get there. They don't take forever filling the prescriptions. My husband is trying to cut corners by saving. The only way to get the mail order is by using the 90 day perscription here. The weather is a factor only if we have hurricanes come through. So we have to be sure and have enough supplies since the power can be out for 30 days or more. But that is only a worry for the insulin. In that case we use ice to keep it cool. Okay sorry for the long response lol!

I agree. I would have to over rule anyone when it comes to needing medication. I could not go get my mothers prescription and had it delivered by the pharmacy. We had several that delivered but it cost more. I had to pay it. I think if you can afford to pay a little more at a pharmacy I would rather do that than rely on mail order. I won't do it because I have a mail slot and not a mail box and the meds would have to be left on the front step. Can't risk it being stolen.

I agree with you, I call my doctor doctor and have him call in the prescription to a pharmacy.

Sorry to hear about all the problems you are having with the mail order drugs. It is a major drawback to this system. My insurance also offers mail order but I chose not to participate.
I hope you can find a quick resolution to your problems.
