By the way for anyone who is having a problem like me with no health insurance there is a program that helps with only medicine(not just for diabetes it is for most medications for many conditions) and does not cover any durable medical equipment there are some conditions though. It is called Prescription Hope i will post the number when i get off work I dont have it with me but it is $18 a year and $18 per Prescription free shipping to your doctor's office. It helps me out with my insulin. Hope it helps you or someone you know :)

You can go to the company that makes your meds website and they have programs that allow you to get them for free or reduced if no insurance. It is easy to do. You can also call health dept and they will send you to a dr that uses a sliding fee scale to pay for dr appts/labs and you can get your meds from free to $10.00.

The thing is I am more interested in a health insurance that would help me out with meds and doctors visits and eyes and the rest and still have a health insurance. I dont mind paying for a health insurance even if it covers partial but problem is they are all expensive which is fine but i have to pay for a whole year not less than $250 a month without getting any help for my diabetes (because it is pre-existing) so every 3-4 month visit and blood test vision doctor and monthly supplies + paying for a health insurance that does not cover me for a year is kinda tough for me.

So sorry to hear that you are in this situation. I am originally from Michigan and I know what the economic situation there is like right now.

Here is a site you might also want to check out for help with medications:

It might be worth a look.

I will keep you in my thoughts!

Hi and welcome. Try calling your local health dept and ask where to go after explaining your situation. You will get a referal. You can contact the company who makes your pump to see what programs they have and contact the company/dr for the insulin you use as you can get it for free for a year. Be prepared to have to go back to doing injections though.
