How would you like an online interactive resource for type 2 diabetes that teaches you blood sugar basics? The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) and the American College of Endocrinology (ACE) have come together to develop "the Game Plan" diabetes management program. By going to the website at bloodsugarbasics.com/the-game-plan, you can get everyday tips, watch a video, take a quiz that tests your understanding of high and low blood sugar, and find advice on how to approach your healthcare team.

Three coaches walk you through this process: endocrinologist Dr.Farhad Zangeneh, MD, registered dietitian/exercise physiologist Samantha Heller, MS, RD, CDN, and a former professional athlete and ESPN personality, Mike Golic (see our interview with Mike at www.diabeteshealth.com/read/2011/11/25/7363/a...).

"The Game Plan," which is sponsored by Merck, is available to all type 2s at no charge. Family members and healthcare providers who want to learn more about managing blood sugar can also take advantage of this resource."

I haven't checked out the entire site, but saw several things that would be beneficial to the newly diagnosed as well as a refresher for others.

Maybe it's the "Posh" thing to do at the moment, maybe it's great for publicity and endorsements.
Either way diabetes doesn't discriminate, maybe with more "celebrities" endorsing it, it just may receive the funding and attention that it deserves!…just maybe!

Oh these are great! I am printing out the Game Plan right now and can't wait to see what else is in there. Thank you so much for that link!
I kind of like that there is just a small space for meals...hint, hint. I need to eat smaller and more basic meals. Activity sheet is printing now...this is so good for me. Just what I needed.

Glad to have helped. I need to visit the site on my computer and print them out for me as well.

I am new here. I don't have diabeties but I do have hyperinsulinimia which causes obesity. How and where do you start?

You may want to try out our Obesity Connect site. It is similar to this one, but it focuses on obesity. There are many of us here who need to loose weight, and you are welcome to hang here too, but that one is specific.

I didn't even know there was a condition that "caused" obesity.

What you can do is go to the link in the discussion and then you can print out the game plan pages to give you a goal page and then tools to make it happen.

When I get caught up on the rest of what is going on here (been gone for a week) I will give it a look-see. It looks interesting!
