Amy Tenderich, our Community Manager, blogged about this. But I think many may have missed it.

You must check out these great photos of San Francisco City Hall all lit up in Diabetes Awareness blue. Awesome. Way to go, Amy.

Yeah!! This is the first US building that I have seen. So wonderful to see it all a glow in blue. Thanks for sharing it.

Thank you kindly, All!

You can have a look at the great photos from around the world here: http://www.worlddiabetesday.org/wddgallery

Also, it's interesting to note that the American Diabetes Association doesn't really recognize World Diabetes Day or the Blue Circle -- the international symbol for diabetes support. See my latest post on that here:

Now I understand....not! Why in the world would the US not recognize this day? I find it so unbelievable that the country with a huge population of diabetics and growing would not participate in the solidarity of what this day means. You are right, we need to do it up right next year. ADA or not. We can share in a world wide unity in this effort.

I say shirts with DC and WDD next year. I say events where we raise awarness in our neighborhoods. I say TV and newspapers will take notice next year. And we will be doing it.

I would of love to have been a little angel in a corner in every state, just to see how they celebrated there…Debe
