I drink coffee only when it's free and made . . . like where I work. I add a tiny bit of milk, and the pink stuff, and I have no issues.
Why are your concerns with diabetes and coffee ?

I couldn't live with out my morning coffee..I don't think coffee is a problem as much as what you put in it..Sugar free creamers, still have sugar in them, they just call it something else. I use stevia for a sweetener

Hello.. I found a coffee that is sugar free. It is International Coffee (rectangular can) in French Vanilla. It is wonderful!! Also, I found made by Coffee Mate, liquid Sugar Free French Vanilla Coffee Creamer. Both together taste soooo yummy!! I buy it at walmart for I think 2.50 a can. Other grocery stores are 3-3.50 per can. I really enjoy drinking this.

I drink from 2 to 4 cups of coffee a day with no ill effects. I take it with milk and no sweetener but do factor in the milk carbs in my diet.

I stop drinking coffee for a while, mostly because I like mine with sugar and milk. When diagnosed I didn’t think I would ever be able to use the artificial sweeteners. Then I found splenda doesn’t taste to bad. Lately been adding truva to my coffee. Coffee Mate I found doesn’t spike my blood sugar so a couple of years ago I started to drink coffee again. Haven’t noticed any difference in my blood sugar from drinking coffee.

If your not sure if coffee is ok for you or not just test your blood sugar before drinking a cup of coffee and then again about 30 minutes later and again at 1 hour and maybe 1 ½ hours after drinking it. Your meter should tell you if it’s ok or not. Just remember if you eat or drink anything else with your coffee, the whatever you ate with the coffee might be at fault. When I was testing how different meals affected my blood sugar I would test before and 30 minutes after and then about every 10-15 minutes thereafter until my blood sugar dropped. The more you test the better the results. You should see your blood sugar rise, peak and fall. Or come close.

For me coffee is ok.

A packet of pure sugar is only 4 grams of carbs, so don't sweat it if that's all you would use.
