Ok so last week I went to the doctor and my heart and lungs sounded good and my blood pressure was normal. He sent me for blood test and he called me with the results so I thought I would share. My blood sugar was 125, my A1c was 6.2, my triglycerides went down 300 points (thank God) that runs in my family and the fish oil definitely seems to be helping.

Now I went and bought some biotin. I want to start taking it along with my fish oil, vitamin D and cinnamon. I also take metformin and klonopin. Just wondering if anyone else takes biotin? I have PCOS so healthy skin and hair are important to me.

How is everybody else doing? I am reading up on post now, a lot of good discussions.

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!

I had lap band surgery 5 years ago andwas told to take Biotin. My hair grew unbelievable thin as did my nails. Now (on 5000 u per day), my hair is decent. I don'tknow what the biotin does or how it works, but my doctor has never questioned it. I was taking 1000 u Vitamin D 3, and he increased it to 2000 u per day. That is my 2 cents.

I started taking biotin last year after I posted a discussion on my nails splitting vertically. Several here recommended Biotin and it has definitely strengthened my nails and I have much less splitting issues. It's also supposed to be good for your hair. I take one pill a day and haven't noticed any problems with it. I suggest you give it a try.
