I'd be interested in getting thoughts from those who are observing this "online community" here and elsewhere.

We're looking at how the DOC has evolved through the years, and where we're going.

What do you think? Is this all good or is there some bad? And what can we do, as people living with diabetes? Thanks, in advance!

Having, and making informative information available to the masses is a plus, and being able to do so via the world wide web is a blessing!

Just having the ability to relate to one another, sharing the same concerns, on the same subject brings about a closeness, a cozziness that can be lost by any other means.
Being able to communicate over very long distances, at any time with no restraints allows a person to feel at ease.

Of course the "Human Element Factor" kicks in from time to time, unkind words, false claims, misinformation, we have to take the grain with the chaff, but it's all for good in the long run.

No one knows everything, "Online Communities" serve a purpose, bridging the information, and humanity gap between visits to the doctor.
And it feels good knowing that you are not alone out there dealing with diabetes and that there are many people who are willing to help you to do so, it makes dealing with diabetes a whole lot easier!
