I have really enjoyed being a part of this community and I only think it fair for me to share what amazing things I have found that have worked for me. Like many of you, I have been looking for advice not only from doctors in person, but also searching for answers online. Recently, I have been frustrated with my diabetes and not being able to find any answers that work for my situation. Then, I found this site called HealthTap, where I have interacted for the past few weeks, and I just noticed today they have revamped their site. It looks better than ever. I have been using it to get all of my health questions answered! They have real doctors answering any health question you may have. The link is www.healthtap.com
I really hope that health tap helps you as much as it has helped me. I included a link below if you want to check it out. I really encourage you too. To a healthy life ☺

I just went to the site also. I started signing up until I got to the part where they want my insurance information. Does this mean they will bill our insurance company for an online consultation?

I'm not sure… I was only required to provide that info if I wanted to connect with a doctor for the private consultation. I don't think the insurance company has anything to do with the payment.

I didn't even get that far.

You're right about connecting with a doctor. I wrote and asked why they needed that info and a Dr. wrote back saying so they could file the insurance or they could send me a bill. I haven't been back yet. It did look interesting as long as I don't have to pay. Today my retirement came and it's gone already…LOL

Thank you for the site. It always helps to have resources. I didn't find this one useful for me. The answers are too brief and don't provide additional resources. Just personal preference.

Yes, I agree, having many resources is very helpful. I felt the same way as you did at first but then I realized that I can have follow up questions. Also, starting yesterday they have a method where you get a one-on-one with a doctor with a much cheaper price than a regular visit. I just thought it was promising and wanted to share :)

Cheaper than a co-pay or cheaper than a doctor visit?

dietcherry 2012-07-03 16:35:08 -0500 Report

The Learn More video said the cost of a co-pay. Im not too sure that every insurance would pay for this service. I would call your provider first and ask before using the site.

LOL… I'm sure BCBS Fed would not pay for an online service since they offer one too. I'll keep check that site out though for information.
