Pride Aside...Get The Help, Your Good Health Depends On It!

During my travels and visits to my doctors, I see and hear many things.

Some of it amazes me, yet at other times some of it has me scratching my head in disbelief and asking myself "Why"?

I know that there are many people who are unemployed, many have to rely on a state sponsored social services program (welfare) in order to receive medical insurance benefits (medicaid), some rely on medicare and others on charity care which is either available from a local hospital or clinic.

Some people who are employed rely on insurance that does not offer sufficient coverage for their (or their family members) medical conditions.

Whatever method is at your disposal is better than nothing!
Use it!
Set your pride aside!

Pride is a beautiful thing to have as long as it doesn't do you any harm.
Your main objective is to control, or eliminate what ever it is that ails you, that includes your pride.

"Strutting your stuff" is pointless if you are a shell of the person that you know that you are, or that you can be!
You are responsible for you in more ways than one!

If you have some form of help, use it!
If you need help, get it!
If you know of something that may be helpful to others, tell others of it!

If you are going to be a statistic, be a positive one!
Get the help that you may need.

Among the many hard things I went through during the year of almost dieing going on food stamps was one of theml. Almost as bad as losing our home. I sat in the office and just started crying. The nice state employee reminded my "Everybody needs help sometimes."

I agree..I apply for all the help I can get,,I just posted maybe 2 weeks ago, about the extra help program for seniors on social sercurity.. I can't believe what a difference it made in the cost of my meds..I am now applying to the state of Virginia for help paying my part B medicare premiums.
I paid into these programs for 50 years. now it's my turn to take some out,,Like you I hope people will not let foolish pride stop them from getting the medical help they need
I was age 64 when I was laid off at work and had no insurance for 10 months untill I turned 65..I put my head in the sand for those 10 months.. big mistake by the time I got medicare my BGL was out of control which led to other health issues..I knew there must of been other options I should of explored but I didn't…need I say more

Glad to hear that everything has worked out for you.
Besides budget cuts, lack of participation in the various programs which are available can cause programs and services to be cut or eliminated altogether.
If help is needed to start someone off, or to initiate the process of the betterment of health, then by all means utilize it!
Thanks for posting the discussion about the extra help program for seniors on social sercurity as well as posting a comment on this one.
