ok everyone here is what i need. i kike to have coffee about 3 pm with something sweet, like a graham cracker or some kind of cookie. but even sugar free cookies has more carbs than i need. if i back some thing it is to many at one time and then they go bad. HELP ME!

I have had hit or miss with sugar free sweets. Since I rarely eat a lot of carbs for any meal, I find that a real cookie does the job. I even incorporated a container of yogurt for a mid morning snack. I usually have my sweet tooth attack around 8pm so I grab a cookie or a cup of yogurt.

You can freeze cookies. I don't know about the kind with cream fillings as I don't eat those now. If you buy large packs freezing will prevent them from going stale.

I bought the Coffe Mate Mocha Cafe liquid Coffee Creamer. I add that to my afternoon cup of coffee and find I don't want a cookie with it.

My favorite sweet treat is ice cold grapes. Wouldn't go with coffee at all, sorry! I don't ever eat sf cookies etc., I just count the carbs in the real deal and eat less of them. Portion control is hard sometimes but if I want it badly enough I do fine with that. I don't eat between meals at all, it makes my next reading higher than I like. I would look for oatmeal cookies or granola bars that didn't spike my numbers to have with your coffee. Good luck finding a satisfying snack for your afternoon break!

i love grapes but here in florida, they are so expensive. that i would rather buy something else but thanks for the suggestion.

Do you have something available like a freezer available at 3pm where you may put larger batches of a sweet treat so they don't spoil?

Also you might want to break a graham cracker into its individual rectangles and test its effects on your unique metabolism by following this proceedure here ~

You could then determine what that food is doing to your Blood Glucose (BG) levels and what amount will not spike you too badly!

James I ate Graham Crackers from the 2nd month of being diagnosed until I started on Ginger Cookies of which I only eat 2. I found they did not raise my blood sugar and the fiber made me feel full in the middle of the day or middle of the afternoon.

are you talking about ginger snaps? i like ginger snaps. i also like to bake my own but flour is a carb and i try to keep my cards at breakfast. i guess i will look at labels and get the lesser of the evil

Yes Nabisco Ginger Snaps. The Amish Markets Bakery use to sell cakes made with soy flour and soy milk but they had a little sugar in them. For me, I could eat the cake either plain or with Chocolate Frosting and it did nothing to my blood sugar. I ate a small slice after lunch and waited two hours and tested and my numbers were great.

The snack thing is a problem. I have tried sugar free cakes from the supermarket and they were not that bad if I put it with no sugar added ice cream.
