Diabetes...A Basket Full of Woe!

Why do I post so much here on Diabetic Connect in the form of videos, discussions, news articles and recipes?

Because I care, not only about me, but also about others!

I really dislike having diabetes, I hate having to devote so much time to it, I can think of many other things that I can be doing with my time.

Diabetes is a basket of woe.

More akin to Pandora's Box, there are so many possible complications hiding beneath one another just waiting to come out if you let them.
But unlike Pandora's Box, hope is not glistening at the bottom of the box.

My point is this, diabetes can be managed by the individual, carrying around that basket of woe, that weighty basket that can be made lighter, is up to you.

It's a struggle, a struggle with options, success or failure.
Most chronic diseases don't give you an option, so choose wisely.
After all, it's all up to you.

Thank you for caring Mays..You make carying that basket of woe a little easier..One can never know to much about what ails them..With diabetes knowledge is power. Power to control it and not have it control you..I know I speak for a lot of the community when I say thank you for the time and effort you put into this

I think the woe comes from the guilt of knowing we don't take care of ourselves the way we should. That weighs heavily on me sometimes. When I let too many days go without really checking myself on my carb intake or my lack of motivation to exercise. I know I should...so here comes the woe.

That woe is much less when we are doing what we know is right. We are excited about sharing, about doing more and feeling good. Those things come when we are taking the right steps and leaving that stupid basket by the bench we got up off of.
