Hi and welcome to the family. I'm sorry you're having a hard time navigating the site, but I suggest you play around with all the different offerings to get comfortable with it, that's how I did it as well as asked questions. Won't take long to get the hang of it:)

Howdy Brenda

Sorry it is so frustrating for you!

Unfortunately the videos on how to navigate this site are a bit dated and tells of ways of doing things which may or may not work with the newest upgrades to the site.

There are two ways of sending personal messages to a person. One is via the email (or "inbox"). Personally I prefer using the inbox because once I send or receive one I don't have to hunt for it as I would on the second method of communicating the profile "wall".

The other is via the person's profile wall. Those messages can be swept away quickly on someone's profile, especially if the person has a lot going on in their profile . . . lots of gifts, messages and discussion posts ect. I have had to drill down several pages to find a particular message to which to respond or read.

To send a gift, go to the person's profile and to the right of the person's profile picture you'll see a rectangular text box. Just below the text box you should see a little icon of a gift wrapped box with the link "add a gift" click on the link and a selection box will open with several options from which to choose. Once you've made a selection you can either send a message with the gift or just click the "share" button.

This is the way folks which access the site with computers can do it, but if you access the site with a smartphone I would not know how to do that since I've never accessed this site that way. (I have a smartphone but it is a "dumb" smartphone and do not access the net that way)

I agree with mays. This site DOES have much to offer, and please hang with us. It does take some time to get used to navigating the site. I think it will be worth it once you learn. Should you need help with a particular item of navigation you couild inbox one of your friends (like me) who could try to help you work through your difficulty.

Blessings to you and yours!

James

I know that it can be a little confusing at times to keep up with all of the changes that occur on this wonderful site, but all of the changes that are being made (believe it or not) is being done to make things easier for everyone.
Sometimes progress can be confusing and frustrating but, in my opinion, it's necessary.

Please be patient, this site has so much to offer, the support of the DC family is priceless, and after all "you" are family, so please give us, and this site a chance.

"Welcome" to the family!
