To everyone here who is Vegetarian, Vegan or is simply health conscious, this came from ABC news in one of the news feeds on Yahoo this afternoon.

Not satisfied with the little info ABC new provided I looked for the ingredients of this "miracle mystery meat'".

According to the Vegetarian Resource blog group the ingredients i'nclude "Made from soy, pea protein, amaranth, and carrot fiber with a few other vegan ingredients," and "the typically corn-derived sweetener, maltodextrin, is listed as an ingredient" (but no white sugar). As far as nutrition, "According to product literature, a three oz. serving of Beyond Meat™ Veggie Chicken Strips contains “18 g of complete protein, no saturated or trans fats, and is gluten-free.” It is rich in iron and low in sodium (”260 mg/3 oz. compared to similar products with up to 690 mg/3 oz. serving)" Find the whole Vegetarian Resource blog here ~ http://www.vrg.org/blog/2012/06/04/beyond-mea...

What are your thoughts on this news?

Praying for your improving health

I been telling folks that Google searches will return results from these discussions for quite some time.

Does that mean I am FAMOUS? LoL!

Found a few of my DC posts on google over the years as well.

Yes you are. Just a real life version of one of my favorite scenes from "The Jerk", when he gets the new phone book and is listed.

*Disclaimer I am not saying you are a jerk. I identify too strongly with that character to share the title with any one else.

I am just wondering how it taste. Of course it will be so long before it makes it to my neck of the sticks I will probably never know. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Jay after reading both articles..I would say that I would give it a try when it becomes available..I can't afford organic raised meat..This sounds like a better deal then the steroid pumped chicken that I eat now..Thanks for posting that
