The weeks are just flying by. Some of you are really on fire with this exercise. Please remember to hydrate, hydrate, as the summer heat comes through. Pace yourself and keep in mind whether its 10 mins or 1000 mins. one day or seven, Its better than nothing at all. Speedy recovery to all who had surgery and good health to those under the weather. I look forward to hearing from the veterans of the group and any newcomers who want to join in this week. Its never to late. If you can walk it, bend it, flip it or run it, come on in and stay awhile, you'll be glad you did. :D

I bought some sleeveless tops so I am motivated to improve the arms for summer. I was told weight lifting helps with burning calories even after I finish. Here's hoping that's true :D

Friday
30 minutes circuit training
45 minutes grocery shopping, fresh grilled asparagus for dinner ;-)
30 minutes cleaning house, getting ready for the weekend - husband actually has Saturday off work for a change!! ;-)

Great job. You need to reward yourself for your hard work and have a great weekend with your hubby. You are blessed to have each other. I have come to realize that about myself and my wife. Our mates are a blessing from God and we sometimes forget what they go through with our DB. I thank my wife every day for supporting me and being there for me.God Bless and you and your husband have a great weekend together.

A whole 5 minutes on the treadmill for .28 miles and I am short of breath and both calves feeling like lead weights! Is it just a matter of needing to move more or what? I've been to lung specialists, it's not a problem with copd. I have been trying to get back in shape since the heart surgery about a year and a half ago…seems like I am going no where!

I agree with Somoca, take it easy and it will all come around. Five minutes is better than no minutes. Don't beat yourself up, we all have had or downs and I am sure we still do at times. God Bless and remember we are here for you. Tommy

Mariantlibrarian, take it easy. 5 mins today and 5 mins tomorrow and so on. I have days when my BS is low or I become sick and I am not in a good place and 10 mins is all I can give but I give it and then I move up to my 30 again. I finally lost a dress size after trying for a year. I have a long way to go. Hang in there.

Thank you! I really appreciate you and Tommy letting me know that it's not just me that goes through times like this. I'm going to keep plugging away as much as I can. Hopefully I'll get back up to at least 30 minutes at a time soon!

I got my walk in today early. I didn't take my water so my legs have cramped like spiral pasta…OUCH ; LOL. But I did get in my walking, Whewww, lol.

Just finished another 30 min 2 mile tread mill. That makes 8 miles soo far. Still got a long way to go. glad to have you all as a friend and more than that as an inspiration and motivation to keep pushing on. Lots Of Love ,God Bless . Tommy

Ok, I am not quite back in the game yet, but did manage running all over the college yesterday with my son for orientation and registration day. It was a lot of steps! I went to bed early last night and slept really late this morning, but my shoulder is finally feeling all right with a minimal amount of pain pills again. Everyone keep up the good work, I hope to be back on the treadmill soon!

Take it is and soon you will be back to 101%. Want be long and you will be running the marathon. What??? Anything is possible we should dream big, and maybe one day I'll see you running a marathon that I am dreaming I will be in to. Nobody said it had to be a 10, 20, 30 or more mile run. I will settle with 5 miles, believe it with me and who knows? Oh yea it's good to hear that your shoulder is doing better. I am praying for it. God Bless. Tommy

Trust me that's a workout. My classes in grad school were so far apart that it would take 15 mins to get from one class to the next. Good to hear the shoulder is feeling better. You will be doing knee bends soon.

Great job. And I thought my 30 min 2 mile tread mill was doing something.You are a Great incentive for me to push myself. You are an inspiration to me. There's that exercise I've been hearing soo much about, Zumba. I am really interested in learning more about Zumba and would really like to take a class or classes. How hard was it to get started in Zumba and what kind of condition does one physically have to be in to start? Again great job and God Bless. Tommy

I'll make sure I post it, when I go. Should be good for a laugh any way, being how I seem to trip over my feet when I used to dance. But I am still going to try it.Found a place close to home that has classes on Saturday morning, will be checking it out.

Sleep is vital. I can tell when I lose mine, I do not want to do anything , especially exercise. But, I do find that I sleep better when I do exercise.

35:00 3 mile walking DVD. Still sore but managed just fine. Note to self, don't fall again and make sure you don't get your feet tangled up while exercising. LOL>

Don't feel bad about your fall I have had the same thing happen to me. We just pick our selves up , brush it off and off we go again. Atleast 30 years ago LOL. If only i could go back! 90 minutes trimming bushes(spring cleaning front yard)
30 minutes mowing
And now going swimming to cool off!! ;-)

Ouch! Hurts just thinking about it. You are truly an inspiration an incentive to me. I've got to try the Zumba, It looks like a lot of fun and a great workout.You are doing and exceptionally good job. Great job.Would love to have just a litle bit of your energy and get up and go!

Just checking in! No exercise for me today, the longer the day wore on the more sore and stiff I was from my fall yesterday. No worries, it was fine after rest and Tylenol and I should be good to go tomorrow. Keep going!

Thanks for everyones concerns for me. Sorry about not being on DB for the past few days. Just been working a lot of hrs lately and after hitting the tread mill haven't had a lot of time for the computer. I did however finish off week 5 with 12 miles on the tread mill inspit of the long hrs and I contribute that to you all for your incentives for me to ke going.I am truly blesed to have you all as friends on DB. God bless to each and everyone of you. I managed two miles yesterday after another long day and am about to get in another 2 miles tonight. Lots of love Tommy.

Tuesday morning: 1/2 hour of cardio fit exercise machine before breakfast. This machine works any muscle group I choose to focus on. Currently working postural muscles to complement some chiropractic care I've gotten recently for an old injury.

Found this one really on sale about 12 years ago. Think they were going to a new model or discontinuing … never seen them since, but it's a compact, helpful little unit. Looks kind of like a motorcycle with extra big handlebars! Push your full body weight up using arms or legs, or toggle between the two.
