Strawberries, blueberries, Canalople, apples, I stay away from bananas it runs my sugar up. Started eating greek yogurt yesterday and amazing it didn't rise my sugar. Yah.

Berries, berries and more berries! 1 cup of fresh berries has the following carbs: Strawberries 13 grams; Blueberries 22 grams; Blackberries 14 grams; Raspberries 15 grams. 1 medium sized (2 2/3" diameter) fresh peach has 14 grams; 10 fresh sweet cherries has 13 grams. If you count your carbs and allow for the fruit carbs, you will likely be able to indulge in these lower carb fruits.

I'm going to try strawberries again. I was in the market today and the summer fruit is so beautiful…I really miss it. I'll just keep repeating to myself, "13 grams, 13 grams…" and hopefully my body will respond.

Thank you for the information.

I started with blackberries because all the seeds are fiber and that slows the digestion of the carbs. Do strawberries now too, despite the smaller seeds, but do best on blackberries. Sometimes have a mixed bowl of the two.

Oh, thanks, Lou! Delighted to see my favorites come in at around 13-15 per cup cause a cup is what I frequently do!!! Yummy!!!!!

This is the only thing that I miss as a result of diabetes. I've read all of the information regarding low carb fruits but I can't eat any of them (with the exception of avocados) without a spike in BG. Periodically, I have a strawberry or two and deal with it or exercise to compensate for it.

You just learn that in the grand scheme of things, I would rather feel better without eating things that trigger physical or psychological reactions that I'm not comfortable with.
