This slide-show some helpful hints for getting more accurate carbohydrate counts from out in-home meals as well as those we when we eat out. It's a very practical guide that shows sizes of portions, talks abut reading labels, doing counts for your favorite meals, and has (on slide 14) a reference to our own Amy T. and DiabetesMine.com.

Handy and practical info. This is somehting that should be included in any school program also.
Funny, slide 15 (measuring with your hand) - my wife still can't figure out why she has dozens of measuring spoons dirty when she cooks and I have none.

Yes, it's quite basic information that many people on the site keep mentioning that they don't know — both the carbohydrate counting process and the estimating of portion size. :)

Interesting article. The marketing of the magazine is quite agressive, and for the first 3 or 4 slides I kept getting popups from the Diabeticlivingonline on this machine, so that was a little irritating. But the information was worth the hassle.

Maybe you need to change your settings for Pop-ups. I can go through all 16 slides without anything obstructing the material. The 17th is an advertisement for the magazine, but it is the last slide in the show.

The computer I am on is not my computer so I can't change settings. (shared computer in an apt complex)

when I logged into the site the popups stopped.
