Hello, and welcome, try reading a book called diabetes without drugs, by Suzie Cohen. It was a great help for me.
Best wishes

Howdy Brian WELCOME to DiabeticConnect!

With Diabetes Mellitus (the formal name for diabetes — abbreviated "DM") when it rains it seems to pour at times.

As far as your back pain is concerned, you may not yet be aware of a "sister" site to DC called Back Pain connect. You can find it by going to the black band at the top of this page and mouse over "visit another community". You can use the same email address and password you use on DC to get in there also. I belong there too, so when you're there, look me up and add me as a friend.

I too have neuropathy, I have several different kinds, but the one that bothers me the most is peripheral neuropathy where my legs and feet burn from the knees down to the toes. I have gastroparesis as well but mine comes and goes.

Depression, anxiety and stress seems to come with the Dx of DM. I had those problems big time when first Dx'd. For me, they are pretty much in the past now.

I was Dx'd officially in 1995 and probably had DM for about half or three quarters of of a year prior to that.

So I want you to know that you are not alone.

Praying better health to you and God's richest blessings to you and yours

James Baker
