I have been reading alot of the recipes and wondered it anyone has one for baked beans. With all the molasses and bacon and all, I need a lower carb and sugar one. Anyone have one. One from scratch not from cans please.

I have this recipe. You can adjust it to taste.

3 slices bacon — [I use 2 thick]
1/4 cup minced onion
1/4 cup minced celery
1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper — [I use yellow or orange]
15 ounces canned black soybeans
3 tablespoons no sugar ketchup
2 tablespoons Splenda
1/2 teaspoon blackstrap molasses — [yummy stuff]
1 dash salt
1 dash pepper
1 dash hot sauce

Chop up bacon, or snip it right into a saucepan with your kitchen shears. Start it cooking over medium heat. When some grease has cooked out bacon, add the onion, celery, and bell pepper. Saute the vegetables in the bacon grease until soft.

Drain the canned black soybeans [toss liquid], and dump them in with the vegetables [and bacon]. Stir in the ketchup, Splenda, molasses, salt, pepper, and hot sauce. Turn the burner to low, cover, and let the whole thing simmer for 15 minutes or so, then serve. Makes 4 servings.

Each serving: 11 grams carbohydrate and 6 grams fiber, for a usable carb count of 5 grams; 11 grams protein.

I also have this one. I'm not sure on the nutrition information though. I know it's probably not low carb.

Ingredients:

53 oz can Pork & Beans
Four slices of bacon
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup barbecue sauce
1/4 cup molasses
One tablespoon minced onion
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon mustard
Instructions:

Mix all ingredients together
Bake in 325-350 degree F oven for 60-75 minutes
