It seems as you may have caught the symptoms early and with proper diet and lifestyle changes like jayabee52 you can probably prevent the onset of diabetes

Howdy GracieJean, WELCOME to DiabeticConnect!

i am glad to hear that your Dr is taking your diagnosis (Dx) seriously! And it sounds like you are also. Has Dr discussed with you lifestyle changes which MAY reverse the disease while it may still be reversable?

There are things you can do to try to avoid full blown diabetes mellitus (DM) type 2. Ask us here and we can suggest some things which may well work for you so you might avoid a full blown case of DM t2.

Blessings to you and yours

James Baker

Generally, anything over 100 should make the doctors start paying attention, and it's good that your doctor is telling you about it as well. Too often, they just watch it go up, and up and up. A non-diabetic fasting number is usually between 70-90. When it starts getting closer to 100, the bells should be going off. If it is over 100 consistently, then it is way past time to act.

Did your doctor discuss with you any changes or suggestions for what to do?
