Hey Girls!! Does the time of the month wreck havoc with you? I already have trouble staying motivated. When THE TIME comes oh boy does the chocolate beckon…LOL How do you all get through THE TIME? It messes with my blood sugars too.

I was wondering about this too. I have noticed i am constantly hungry when its that time of the month, and even a day or 2 before my period starts, my sugars go all over. I will be 200, then 188 5 mins later, then 104 an hr later and i did nothing! Maybe had a cup.of water? Do hormones really affect BG readings? And why?

Makes my BG's hard to manage sometimes. I don't think I crave any specific thing, but my appetite definitely increases. I just make sure that if I have a second helping of something, it's only half the portion size.

I find that I have to increase my insulin amounts slightly during "that" time. I take Pamprin or Midol to help with the PMS. It also does seem to help with my BS levels too, not sure why. I make sure to drink plenty of water, almost doubling what I normally drink and for the chocolate cravings, I will eat 1 or 2 pieces of a good quality dark chocolate. I have a secret stash in the pantry… That takes care of the cravings usually.

Sometimes I will just go for it and other times u just drink water instead… I feel like you have to enjoy it sometimes though. Just moderate and go for a run after! But I go through the same thing!!!
