Hey Cynthanie. I've always got nuts and/or sunflower seeds on hand. Even pistacios, given how much work they are to get a handfull seem to fill me up in between times. Beef jerky too, if she can handle the salt.

Hello Cynthanie. As James suggested, protein or fiber foods are great choices. If it's between meals she may want to try some protein or fiber snack bars. Also, fresh fruits, salad (with some protein on top) or raw veggies (maybe with some kind of dip or dressing) are always a good choice.

I've learned that any foods I prefer can be a snack, I just make sure to eat them in smaller portion sizes and avoid foods that will raise my BG's too high. If I'm still hungry after eating a meal, I'll grab a second helping of just one thing or have some salad. The point is to not have a whole second plate of my meal right after eating.

Howdy Cynthanie!

Well, I could say from the top lf my head (if I had a mouth there — LoL) two good choices would be protein or foods containing a lot of fiber.

Protein takes longer to digest so she'd feel full longer.

With the fiber you could have her drink a fiber drink like Metamucil, which also fills one up and has no carbs or she could eat some of the foods listed in this slideshow featured in this DC discussion here ~ http://www.diabeticconnect.com/discussions/14...

or this slideshow of 12 here ~ http://www.dlife.com/dlife_media/diabetes_sli...

I pray this helps you both!

James
