I was on 500 mg of Metformin for years with great results. A1C's of 6.1, 6.2. Taken off Metformin due to kidney function problem. Been on Januvia and number went up a lot. Added glyburide and got even sicker with hugh lows andthen went on Januvia with Prandin and numbers are all over the place. Usually from 140 to 225.

Is Prandin effective alone in a larger dose or shoudl I look at victoza?

Really, Mr chirpy, this question is not one which many of us can answer very well since very few of us hold an MD or a DPharm degree. Perhaps you could ask this question of Pharmacist George (profile here ~ )

Or you could go to the home page (link is at top of the left hand column of links) and on the home page you will see on the right hand side about mid page a link "Ask an Expert" There is a box there in which you can ask your question.

In fact you might want to ask this question of both sources.

Even they cannot tell you for sure as your Dr, who has examined you, could not tell in advance whether you would get sick on glyburide. But it couldn't hurt to ask either or both of those sources of information.
