I have low A1C under 6 but have very high blood sugar even my fasting blood sugars, over 200 is normal for me.

Just a thought maybe my blood cells turn over more often than most and this is what maybe causing this.
I have had the fruitose test and that seems within range

Has anyone been tested for the A1c more often than every 90 days?

Nope, and as Carol suggests, there may be something wrong with your fasting test. Mathimatically, i don't think you can have consitent 200's with enough lows to make a 6 A1c without going hypo a few times. Unless you experience a very brief dawn effect or "liver dump" and run the rest of your day in the 90's, I'd say something is way off with your test

If the 200s are accurate readings, you also have to be having some really low BGs at times when you aren't testing to get and A1c under 6. Why don't you set the alarm and do some testing in the night and see what's actually happening.

Do you wash your hands before testing? High readings could be caused by your soap or, if you don't wash before testing, something that has gotton on your hands. Many products (hand soaps, cosmetics, hand lotions) can also cause your BGs to show very high when the test is actually measuring what's happening on your hands.

By contrast, the A1c is protected from outside influences because of the serile blood draw (when done by the doctor or lab), so you get a real look at what's happening to your blood cells over the previous 3 months.

Be interesting for you to report about some night time testing. Next time you get a high reading, go wash your hands in clear water and retest. See if the results are similar (they will never really be identicle, just close).

No either my doctor or my insurance won't let me test more than that. My a1c went from 8.9 to 6.2 and my sugar pretty well stays under 150 for the most part. I power walk a lot though and that seems to help.
