Just a quick note to say HI and Happy Spring to my family, friends and fans here at Diabetic Connect. Now just because I don't post often doesn't mean you won't still find me lurking and smirking in the shadows, keeping tabs on those of you who have touched my life as strangers who I am now proud to call "friends."

So, what have *I* been up to? My most recent doctor appointment showed a decrease in a1c from 6.8 to 6.4. My weight has also decreased and currently at 166 lbs. (I was 199 in March of 2010).

Now last month I took the plunge and went for the dental surgery that I kept putting off and I'll tell you, I am glad that I finally did it. I'm having some issues with eating certain things but I understand that may be normal. After all it's only been about six weeks.

So, all in all, I am doing well and just wanted to touch base on here to ask …

HOW ARE YOU DOING???

Hi Ray!!

Long time my friend, much too long actually. I have been away myself, but, I must tell you, your guidance was never far from my mind and one of the reasons I had some sort of semblance to my daily thoughts and actions in this diabetic life of mine.

I'm incredibly happy to hear your news! You dropped 33 pounds, that's AWESOME. Your A1C shows your hard work! I'm not sure I remember your goal to have dental care but am glad to hear all is well with that and you are adjusting to the changes.

Take care of you … Lurk and smirk all you want :)
*Hugs* Cheryl

I have been reading Suzy Cohen's book, "Diabetes Without Drugs" and getting a lot of solid information on vitamins and natural help with glucose. I have been frantically taking notes as there's a lot of information to absorb. I must confess that I think it's a "keeper" book. Have any of you read the book??? So far I recommend it.

Hi Ray, CONGRATULATIONS on your most recent accomplishments! This is something to be proud of!!! I am doing well, every day can be trial and error for me! I continue to experience some lows and am still looking for a balance! The longer I live with D the more I realize how lifes' little stressors can affect me. Every day is a new day for me, but am diligently fighting for myself! Thanks for this Post! :-)

Great news. There is always hope but we have to work for it. Keep up the good work and don't be a stranger.

Ray,
Glad to hear the good news and that you are doing well!

Just because you don't post as much as you used to, it doesn't mean that you are not missed, after all *You* are family
!
What would we do without your humor, and your jovial point of view?
I remember both the spark, and the enthusiasm that you provided here at DC the very first day that you became a family member here, and I am glad that you are still here going strong!

As for me, I am fine, still the same boring person that I am, trying to get this thing called "life" up and running…LOL!
It's always good to see "DC" family members posting, I wish that we could get more members to do so, this is such a beautiful family, and a wonderful site!

Take care my friend, give your mouth time to heal, once it does we are expecting some recipes of yours to be posted!

That's FANTASTIC Ray! Glad to hear it!

I am doing OK. I need to get back on my horse and get back to following my meal plan. My kidneys are still hanging in there and even though I have been on the edge of dialysis for more than a year now, I have been able to squeek by again with no dialysis and have a kidney specialist's appointment in approx 2 months again. (Yippee!)

I have a new GF "SQ" who is in Milwaukee, WI, about 1800 + mi from Las Vegas. She's in the hospital tonight waiting to get another skin graft for a burn she received back in late Mar.

So that is what has been happening with me.

Blessings to you and sally, Ray

James
